An online distributor has recalled approximately 1,155 lounge chairs sold on Amazon after a consumer suffered a finger amputation while adjusting the product, according to the U.
S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recall involves Giantex outdoor lounge chairs with a five-position adjustable locking system that creates a dangerous pinch point.
Safety officials are urging consumers to immediately stop using the blue chairs, which measure about 76 inches long and 23 inches wide.

The nationwide safety action was initiated after California-based distributor Giantex Inc. received a report detailing the finger loss injury.
The chairs were manufactured in China and sold online via Giantex. com and Amazon.

Consumers can identify the affected products by checking for model number NP10025NY on the front and side of the packaging.
The distributor is offering a full refund to affected customers who contact them.
To obtain the refund, customers can request a prepaid return shipping package from the company.

Alternatively, consumers can choose to destroy the recalled chair by detaching the headrest pillow, cutting the fabric, and sending photographic proof of destruction.
