Honda is recalling nearly 60,000 electric vehicles in the United States because the rearview camera display can become distorted or go blank.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the safety campaign on Thursday, May 21, 2026, citing moisture intrusion in the camera housing.

Affected Models and Numbers
The recall covers 59,887 vehicles in total, according to federal records.
This includes 44,199 units of the 2024 and 2025 Honda Prologue and 15,688 units of the 2024 Acura ZDX.
The affected electric crossover models share an automotive platform and internal components with General Motors electric vehicles.
However, GM has not issued a corresponding recall for the Chevrolet Blazer EV or Cadillac Lyriq.
Cause of the Defect
Improper surface pretreatment of the camera housing causes the internal adhesive to fail and separate, according to recall documentation.

This separation allows moisture to enter the enclosure, corroding internal electrical components and degrading the digital image.
Component manufacturer Sharp updated the housing surface treatment and bonding processes to fix the defect.
The supplier began manufacturing the revised backup camera units in June 2025 to ensure remedy parts are available at dealerships.
Remedy and Notification
Authorized dealerships will replace the rearview camera assemblies for affected vehicle owners free of charge.
