The number of returned tickets has reached an unprecedented peak for the annual multi-day march.
In 2024, 2,355 tickets were transferred, while 3,384 registrations were canceled in 2025.
Despite the high number of dropped registrations, demand continues to heavily outweigh availability.
More than 11,000 interested walkers remained on the waiting list without securing a starting permit, as reported by local news outlets.
The Nijmegen Vierdaagse routinely attracts massive interest that surpasses the official capacity limits established by the management.

"We see in recent years how many people want to participate in the Vierdaagse.
That is something to be proud of, but it also means we cannot accommodate everyone.
We understand this is a disappointment for people on the waiting list," said Henny Sackers, Marsleider of the organization.
The Nijmegen Vierdaagse is scheduled to take place this year from July 21 through July 24.
