Stranger Things has been named the most-watched television series across streaming, broadcast, and cable platforms for the 2025-26 season, according to Nielsen data released by Variety on June 4, 2026.

The science fiction drama's final season averaged 32.9 million viewers over a 35-day multiplatform measurement window.

That figure outpaced the second-place series His & Hers by roughly seven million viewers.

Franchise Expansion

The franchise now extends beyond the original 42-episode main series.

An animated series titled Stranger Things: Tales From '85 premiered in late April 2026 and secured a second-season renewal just five days after its debut.

Netflix is also developing a live-action spinoff series.

Additionally, the London West End prequel stage play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which originally premiered in December 2023, is set for a filmed release.

Historical tracking from Symphony Technology Group shows the series averaged 14 million viewers in the 18–49 age demographic 35 days after its 2016 premiere.
