According to the Safety Region Utrecht, the containment has eliminated the risk of the fire spreading to adjacent structures.
Very few visible flames remain at the scene.
Surrounding businesses are permitted to open normally.
However, local authorities noted that some establishments may be inaccessible by car due to deployed fire hoses and emergency vehicles.

Officials advised businesses located downwind to the north of the affected facility to contact the fire department's on-duty officer if smoke or odor persists inside their premises.
The officer can perform air quality measurements to determine whether conditions are safe for employees or if additional ventilation is required.
During the peak of the incident, the facility was completely engulfed in flames. Emergency crews focused their efforts on safeguarding nearby structures, which included evacuating one adjacent business.

The fire department closed surrounding roads within the industrial estate to combat the blaze. Shifting winds carried smoke north-northeast over fields along Schoonrewoerd.
