Unstable air masses are bringing unsettled weather across Cyprus on Friday, May 29, 2026, with isolated showers, afternoon thunderstorms, and potential hail forecast for multiple regions.

The meteorological office reports that afternoon cloud cover will generate localized rainfall and isolated storms, primarily affecting Nicosia, Paphos, Troodos, and the foothills of Limassol.

These volatile atmospheric conditions are expected to persist through the Kataklysmos holiday on Monday.

Temperature and Wind Forecast

Temperature projections show Nicosia reaching 31 degrees Celsius, while Larnaca and Famagusta will hit 29 degrees Celsius.

Paphos, Limassol, and Kyrenia will see highs of 25 degrees Celsius, with the higher Troodos peaks hovering around 20 degrees Celsius.

Overnight temperatures are forecast to drop to 18 degrees Celsius in Nicosia, Paphos, and Kyrenia.

Meanwhile, Larnaca and Famagusta will cool to 20 degrees Celsius, and the higher mountain regions will experience lows near 12 degrees Celsius.

Southwest to northwest winds reaching 3 to 5 Beaufort will create slight to rough sea conditions, particularly along the southern coast where gusts may hit 6 Beaufort.

Meteorological officials noted that temperatures across the island will remain close to the seasonal average for this time of year without significant changes through the weekend.
