An American Airlines flight attendant has died after being struck by a boat off the coast of Florida, authorities confirmed.

The body of Kellie Melinda Williams, 31, was discovered by two fishermen near North Boardwalk and Thomas Street on Hollywood Beach at around 8 p.

Williams, a California native who lived in Hollywood and worked at Miami International Airport, was likely snorkeling or diving near Dr. Von D.

Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park before the incident, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

Her body washed ashore a few miles away near New Mexico Street. The FWC and Hollywood Police Department are conducting a joint investigation.

“The FWC would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of Kellie Williams during this difficult time,” the agency said in a statement.

American Airlines also expressed condolences. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague.

Our thoughts and support are with her family, loved ones and colleagues at this time,” the airline said.

This is the second time a woman's body has been found on Hollywood Beach in six months, following an unrelated homicide case.
