North Wales Police have reopened a stretch of the A494 in Flintshire after an emergency incident forced its closure for several hours on Saturday.

The road was shut in both directions between New Brighton and Alltami, causing localized traffic disruptions. Authorities managed the scene before determining it was safe for drivers.

During the operation, police issued an urgent directive asking the public to avoid the area. "Road closure.

Section of the A494 between New Brighton and Alltami is currently closed in both directions.

Please avoid the area to allow the emergency services to carry out their work safely," North Wales Police said in a statement.

The restriction remained in place until late Saturday evening, when emergency crews completed their duties.
