Indian budget carrier IndiGo announced on Thursday, June 4, 2026, the temporary suspension of flights to six international destinations starting in early July.

The move aims to optimize its network amid weaker travel demand and escalating operating costs.

The network adjustment halts services to Langkawi, Krabi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, and Shanghai from July 1.

Flights to Siem Reap will be paused starting July 3.

According to reports from Times of India and Economic Times, the suspension is scheduled to remain in place until September 30.

Bookings for all affected routes are set to reopen on October 1, depending on market conditions.

The airline highlighted that the upcoming quarter typically faces softer seasonal demand on specific overseas routes. It also noted an incredibly challenging cost environment for carriers.

"These measured changes are designed to align capacity with current market conditions and demand trends, while ensuring the airline maintains reliability and network integrity across its global destinations," stated an official release from IndiGo.

The company noted that it remains prepared to restore services earlier if the operating environment improves and demand becomes more favorable.

Beyond operational expenses, global carriers are currently navigating ongoing airspace restrictions that impact route planning and force regular schedule adjustments, according to Economic Times.
