Health Emergency and Financial Strain
The couple's financial troubles worsened after Means suffered a heart-related emergency in 2022. The health issue made it difficult for him to work from home.
Means also disclosed in a 2024 update that he does not receive residuals or royalties from his voice acting roles, leaving him without continuous revenue.
"Homeless! Please Help!!
Our rent went up, and we have to move. We have no money and no credit," Means wrote.
Alternative Income and Community Support
To generate income, the couple is selling custom video messages, merchandise, and autographed plushies. Leah handcrafts animation plushies, while Carey offers personalized fan videos on Cameo.
