The Uttar Pradesh government has directed district administrations across the state to enforce strict guidelines regarding animal sacrifice, public prayers, sanitation, and law and order ahead of Bakrid celebrations.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a review meeting with senior officials on Monday to issue these statewide directions.

The state government has prohibited animal sacrifice at public places and instructed authorities to ensure that roads are not blocked for offering namaz.

District-Level Preparations

In Kanpur Dehat, police and administrative officials inspected Eidgahs to review festival preparations.

SP Shraddha Narendra Pandey said there are 167 mosques and 36 Eidgahs in the district, with 500 to 1,000 people expected at 8 Eidgahs and 1,000 at seven others.

Pandey noted that namaz is not offered in open areas; arrangements have been made for shifted or designated prayer sites to manage large crowds.

The community has been briefed on rules related to Qurbani and waste disposal.

In Pilibhit, the district administration organized peace committee meetings to review security deployments and restrictions on animal sacrifice.

District Magistrate Gyanendra Singh advised against performing namaz in public spaces and sacrificing restricted animals.

Superintendent of Police Sukirti Madhav also held meetings with stakeholders, emphasizing that no animal sacrifices will be performed in public spaces and that prohibited animals must not be sacrificed.

In Bhadohi district, peace committee meetings were conducted at village, tehsil, and police station levels to coordinate arrangements for both Ganga Dussehra and Bakrid.

District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar said all communities have been taken into confidence.

In Basti district, Superintendent of Police Yashveer Singh stated that surveillance measures have been strengthened through drone monitoring and intensified police patrolling to ensure compliance with statewide directives.
