The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2026 has been cancelled, organizers announced on Friday, May 22, 2026.
The decision comes after extensive discussions regarding security and access uncertainties linked to ongoing military operations at RAF Fairford.

The cancellation follows recent lineup additions, including Qatar and Italy scheduled to send aircraft for their first overseas appearance.
Despite these plans, the security situation in the Middle East led to the decision.
Ticket holders will be offered a full refund, a ticket rollover to the 2027 event, or the option to donate their ticket cost to the RAF Charitable Trust.
Organizers Express Regret
The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises collaborated with both the Royal Air Force and the United States Air Force before finalizing the cancellation.
Organizers expressed deep regret over the impact on visitors, volunteers, partners, and the wider community.
"We know how much RIAT means to everyone, and recognise how disappointing this news will be.

The organization is shifting focus toward future planning while managing administrative options for current ticket holders.
Leadership emphasized their intention to bring the international military airshow back to full scale in the future.
"We would like to thank everyone for their support, loyalty, and understanding.
Looking ahead, we remain fully committed to returning in 2027, and to making sure RIAT comes back stronger than ever.
