Canadian authorities and consumer safety organizations on Monday urged Ontario residents to immediately inspect their homes following a massive wave of product recalls across multiple retail platforms.
The safety alerts cover a wide range of household categories sold through major marketplaces including Amazon, Costco Wholesale, and Loblaw Companies Limited banner stores, as well as independent retailers.

Products Affected by the Recall
The multi-category recall targets melatonin-based sleep supplements, cannabis products, Kirkland Women’s multivitamins, kitchen air fryers, and various consumer apparel items due to severe health and safety risks.
Recalled melatonin gummies and sleep supplements may contain inaccurate dosage labeling, contamination, or packaging errors that risk accidental overconsumption and adverse side effects, particularly in children.
Legal retail cannabis products, including edibles, oils, and capsules, are being recalled due to incorrect THC or CBD labeling, contamination risks, or failure to meet child-safety packaging standards.
Costco Canada issued specific alerts for Kirkland Women’s multivitamin tablets because manufacturing inconsistencies or labeling errors could lead to toxic overconsumption of ingredients like vitamin A or iron.

Popular kitchen air fryers are being recalled due to design flaws and faulty components that cause overheating, internal melting, short-circuiting, and potential fire hazards during normal household operation.
Consumer apparel items, particularly children's garments, are included because of high flammability, excessive chemical dyes or residues, and small detachable parts that pose choking hazards.
The widespread distribution of these defective goods highlights growing challenges in quality assurance and supply chain oversight as international products move through complex domestic supplier networks and online third-party marketplaces.
