In the Rochester, New York area, temperatures will start off chilly and gray in the 40s before clearing up late in the afternoon.
Daytime highs are expected to reach only the upper 50s, with evening temperatures dropping into the upper 30s in parts of the Finger Lakes region.
FLX Weather notes that despite steady northerly winds and sunny skies on Thursday, maximum temperatures will remain capped in the mid 50s.
Clear conditions Thursday night will drop temperatures into the low 40s, though frost remains unlikely except in the coldest localized pockets.
A similar cool pattern is affecting Metro Detroit with highs struggling into the 60s. Forecasters anticipate a temporary warm-up and returning sunshine on Friday before wet weather arrives.
Rainy Memorial Weekend Forecast
The holiday weekend weather is projected to deteriorate significantly on Saturday due to a secondary incoming weather system.

Widespread, heavy soaking rain is expected to cover the northeastern regions all day Saturday, accumulating between 1 and 2 inches of rainfall by Sunday morning.
