ScotRail adjusted rail services across Glasgow on Monday, June 8, 2026, as the operator prepared for upcoming sold-out concerts and managed emergency disruptions from a serious track incident.

The rail network confirmed additional late-night services from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley for Take That's Circus Live tour at Barclays Hampden on June 12 and 13.

Concurrently, a serious incident on the Glasgow train tracks left an individual with life-altering injuries.

Thousands of spectators are expected to attend the sell-out events, prompting increased rail capacity between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida.

To ensure safe travel, additional staff will be deployed across the network to assist with crowd management during the weekend rush.

Phil Campbell, the customer operations director for ScotRail, highlighted the convenience of using rail transport for the upcoming stadium events.

"Mount Florida station is only a short walk from the stadium, making travel by train one of the easiest and most convenient ways to get to the concerts," said Campbell.

The train operator is actively expanding its schedule to handle the massive influx of concertgoers.

"We'll be adding more seats and extra services, including extra late-night trains, to help customers travel to and from the event," Campbell added.

Due to the high demand for tickets, Campbell urged passengers to organize their travel itineraries early.

"They're sell-out shows, so we're asking fans to plan ahead, allow extra time for travel, and buy their return tickets in advance," he said.

He also expressed appreciation for the cooperation of passengers during these busy concert dates.

"We're grateful for everyone's patience while our staff help customers board safely," Campbell said.

Beyond the concert planning, Campbell addressed the immediate operational challenges that occurred on the morning of June 8.

"ScotRail services between Glasgow Queen Street and Falkirk Grahamston have been disrupted this morning while the emergency services attend an incident along the route," he noted.

He noted that passengers facing significant delays due to the disruption would be compensated.

"Anyone who was delayed by 30 minutes or more is entitled to compensation through our delay repay guarantee," Campbell said.

Detailing the emergency response, a British Transport Police spokesperson confirmed that authorities were alerted to a casualty on the tracks early Monday morning.

"We were called to an area of the line in Springburn at around 7.45am this morning (June 8) following reports of a casualty on the tracks," the spokesperson said.

First responders quickly arrived at the Springburn site to provide urgent medical assistance.

"Officers attended along with paramedics and a person was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries," the spokesperson added.

The British Transport Police stated that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

An official ScotRail social media update first notified the public about the active emergency presence on the line.

"Emergency services are dealing with an incident between Springburn and Robroyston," stated a ScotRail social media post.

The network warned travelers that standard train schedules through the affected station would face immediate adjustments.

"Trains through the station will be cancelled, delayed or revised," the post said.

To assist stranded passengers, the operator arranged alternative transportation options with a regional bus service.
