The National Weather Service has allowed a tornado warning to expire for southeastern Shawnee County and southern Jefferson County in Kansas.
The warning was lifted on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, after a severe storm tracked through the region.

Storm Details
Meteorologists had previously tracked a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado at 12:06 a. m.
The storm was located four miles northwest of Globe and was advancing northeast at 45 mph.

The system posed an immediate threat to several local jurisdictions, including Lawrence, Eudora, Richland, Perry, Lecompton, Clinton, Lone Star, Pleasant Grove, Vinland, Williamstown, Perry Lake, Clinton Lake, Globe, and Berryton.
Potential Impacts
Officials warned that the severe weather could produce hazardous flying debris for anyone caught without shelter. Damage to vehicle windows, roofs, and residential structures was also expected.

The agency noted that thunderstorm winds would likely cause severe tree damage and could destroy or severely damage mobile homes in the storm's path.
