Production has officially begun on the second series of the BBC crime drama Rebus, filming on location in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The six-episode installment is produced by Eleventh Hour Films for BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and BBC Scotland, with a broadcast debut scheduled for 2027.

Richard Rankin reprises his role as Detective Inspector John Rebus, leading the cast.
New additions for the second season include John Michie, Stephen McCole, Emily Barber, Lorne MacFadyen, Conor Berry, Ivan Ivashkin, Olga Safronova, Douglas Russell, Alexis Rodney, Reece Montague, and Joshua Haynes.
Returning series regulars include Brian Ferguson, Lucie Shorthouse, Amy Manson, Neshla Caplan, Stuart Bowman, Noof Ousellam, Thoren Ferguson, Mia McKenzie, Andrew John Tait, and Cassidy Little.

Screenwriter Gregory Burke adapted the new series from Ian Rankin's bestselling novels.
The story shifts focus to the intersections between violent criminal networks and the wealthy corporate sectors of law and finance.
