A Central Berks Regional police officer died Friday evening, May 29, 2026, after a vehicle crash while responding to a service call in Earl Township, Pennsylvania.

The officer was identified as Kristen Yeager.

Her patrol vehicle came to rest in a wooded area near Route 73, Manatawny Road, and Shoemaker Road.

Emergency crews and multiple agencies responded to the scene around 8 p. m.

A tow truck removed the heavily damaged cruiser just before midnight.

Department Mourns Loss

The Central Berks Regional Police Department released a statement honoring Officer Yeager's service.

"Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication," the department said.

"She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own."

The department added, "Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten."

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 and SkyForce10 showed multiple fire trucks, ambulances, and tow trucks at the wooded crash site.

Authorities have not yet specified the cause of the collision. The investigation remains active.

"We ask that you keep Officer Yeager's family, friends and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time," the agency stated.
