The series also attracted 2.9 million live-plus-same-day viewers on the Paramount Network during its premiere night, marking the largest new cable series debut since 2023.
Dutton Ranch is the fourth installment in Taylor Sheridan's franchise, focusing on characters Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they move to South Texas while confronting their past, including the unmentioned death of Jamie Dutton.
The Independent reported that former showrunner Chad Feehan was let go after on-set clashes with lead actors, leading Sheridan to hand production control to the stars.
Actress Kelly Reilly addressed the production controversy, expressing gratitude for the former showrunner.
"We all just made a really difficult season of TV, birthing something together, and we’re so grateful for Chad," she said.
Reilly noted that moving away from Sheridan's direct oversight brought a new sense of independence.
"It’s almost like a graduation from Taylor, but it’s scary to unmoor from that," she said.
In a separate interview with TVLine, Reilly discussed how the characters' past criminal actions in Montana might affect their new lives in Texas.
"Maybe some old ghosts might come back to haunt them," she said.
She added that the couple's history remains hidden due to Rip's ability to manage evidence. "But who could possibly know about it?
You know, Rip is very good at hiding evidence," Reilly said.

Reilly suggested these secrets could alter the narrative trajectory.
"It's their skeletons in their cupboard, and they might prove to be their weakness or their strength," she said.
Co-star Cole Hauser offered a definitive perspective on the storyline involving Jamie Dutton. "Oh, I'm over Jamie," he said.
Hauser explained that the couple seeks tranquility in the spin-off until unexpected complications disrupt their plans.
"They're just trying to find peace and a bit of serenity," he said.
He noted that sudden challenges force the characters to adapt. "But that all comes crashing down when, literally, lightning strikes.
Now they have to start over, and they're taking this enormous risk by going to Texas.
I like seeing them a little on the back foot versus on all offense," Hauser said.
Despite plot obstacles, Hauser emphasized the bond between the two leads.
"They love each other with such a passion, they support each other, and they're extremely loyal," he said.
He attributed their resilience to complementary personalities. "I think they're a powerhouse together too.
