Law enforcement officers in Green Bay and Rhinelander arrested five individuals following two separate vehicle pursuits on Friday, May 22, and Friday, May 23, 2026.
One incident involved a foot chase through a television station parking lot, while the other escalated when suspects fired shots at pursuing officers.

Green Bay Foot Pursuit
In Green Bay, police officers apprehended a male suspect just before 8 p. m.
on Friday, May 23.
Security cameras captured a police cruiser pursuing the individual through the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral parking lot before the suspect fled across the street into the rear parking lot of WBAY-TV.
The suspect, who was wearing a red sweatshirt and gray sweatpants, briefly paused before continuing his flight on foot.
A police officer exited the squad car and initiated a foot pursuit, which ended when the suspect complied with orders, dropped to the ground, and was tackled by the officer.
According to authorities on the scene, the individual had an active warrant and initiated the pursuit by fleeing from officers.
WBAY reported that the arrest was completed without further incident in the station parking lot.
Rhinelander Chase with Gunfire
In a separate incident on Friday, May 22, the Rhinelander Police Department arrested four individuals following a pursuit that began at 1:48 p.

Officers initially responded to Hodag Park near the boat landing after receiving reports of men firing a gun over Boom Lake.
The suspects fled the scene in a red Chevy Cruze, prompting a vehicle pursuit.
Officers terminated the initial chase upon entering the downtown area due to public safety concerns, but later relocated the vehicle near Highway 17 and County Highway P, where a second pursuit began.
The chase entered the city on Lincoln Street, where it was terminated a second time for public safety, but resumed as officers followed the driver through several turns.
During the continuation of the pursuit east on County Highway P, the occupants of the vehicle fired shots at the pursuing officers.
The pursuit moved onto Highway 8 at high speeds before the driver slowed down, enabling officers to execute a PIT maneuver near Beaver Creek Road.

The four occupants were subsequently taken into custody, and the Rhinelander Police Department stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public as the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol assist with the investigation.
