The 2026 Memorial Day weekend will feature changing weather patterns across the region, with initial sunshine giving way to rain showers and fluctuating temperatures starting Friday, May 22.
According to CBS News, Friday will bring a combination of sun and clouds before heavy rainfall arrives on Saturday.

An area from Monroe to Port Huron could see up to an inch of precipitation.
Weekend Rain and Marathon Conditions
Saturday's rain will be followed by a 40 percent chance of afternoon showers on Sunday.
The highest probability of rain is expected late Saturday night into Sunday, which may create damp conditions for the Vermont City Marathon as daytime highs drop into the 50s.
Sunday will start mainly dry but cloudy, with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s, as reported by WCAX.
Memorial Day itself is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 80, according to CBS News.
However, WCAX predicts a few showers during the first half of Monday, with conditions drying out by afternoon and evening as temperatures climb back into the 60s.
A warmer and brighter pattern will persist through much of next week.

Tuesday and Wednesday will feature partly to mostly sunny skies with temperatures rising into the 70s and lower 80s, despite the possibility of a spot shower or thunderstorm.
