BBC Radio 2 has announced that legendary singer Chaka Khan and iconic rock band Simple Minds will headline this year's Radio 2 in the Park festival.

The event will take place from September 11 to 13 at City Park in Stirling, Scotland.

The three-day weekend will be broadcast live across Radio 2, BBC Sounds, and BBC iPlayer, bringing together world-class musicians and station presenters for what organizers describe as Scotland's biggest music weekend.

Friday Night Kick-Off

The festivities begin on Friday with a DJ Pre-Party featuring sets from presenters Sara Cox, DJ Spoony, Gary Davies, Michelle Visage, and Rylan.

Tickets for the Friday pre-party are priced at £40 plus booking fees.

Weekend daily tickets start from £84 plus booking fees and go on sale Wednesday, June 10, at 8:30 a.

m. via the official Radio 2 website.

Saturday Lineup

Chaka Khan, who rose to fame with the band Rufus and recently received the 2026 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, will headline Saturday night.

She expressed excitement about performing in Stirling, calling it a magical place.

Also performing on Saturday are The Script, Emeli Sandé, ABC, Jack Savoretti, Lulu, and Texas.

The Script promised a setlist packed with hits including "Superheroes," "The Man Who Can't Be Moved," and "Breakeven."

Presenter Vernon Kay, host of the UK's most-listened-to radio show, will DJ on Saturday and promised a set of 90s dance bangers.

He noted that Scotland always brings amazing energy.

Sunday Finale

Simple Minds, led by Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, will close the festival on Sunday night. This marks their only UK performance of the year.

Kerr said the band's set will be upbeat and aimed at getting the crowd involved.

James Blunt will join Sunday's lineup alongside Level 42, Blue, Cast, Appleton, and Deacon Blue.

Blunt expressed his excitement about returning to the festival, calling it his all-time favorite live event to perform at.

Head of Music for Radio 2 Jeff Smith said the festival showcases a diverse range of genres tailored for every listener.

He noted the privilege of bringing some of the world's biggest artists to Stirling.
