Organizers of Utrecht Pride have released comprehensive route schedules and spectator zone guidelines to manage the influx of thousands of expected visitors for the upcoming canal boat parade in Utrecht.

More than 50 boats are scheduled to navigate the Singel and Oudegracht waterways starting at 1:30 PM, prompting officials to categorize the route into color-coded zones based on expected crowd density.

Parade Route and Timing

The parade will commence at the Bartholomeïbrug before moving past Hoog Catharijne at 2:00 PM, the Monicabrug at 2:30 PM, and the Viebrug at 3:00 PM.

The procession is scheduled to reach the Hamburgerbrug at 3:30 PM and the Tolsteegbarrière at 4:00 PM, with the official program concluding at Ledig Erf around 6:00 PM.

Spectator Zone Guidelines

According to the event organization, the purple zone near the starting point and the green zone between Gaardbrug and Ledig Erf will offer more space, making the latter the most suitable location for families with children.

In contrast, the highest congestion is anticipated in the pink zone around Viebrug, near local hospitality venues like Café Kalff and Bodytalk, where narrow spaces and high attendance will lead to full canal banks.

A specific station area called the Change Station will open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM to provide a safe and familiar environment for travelers who wish to change their clothes, as stated by the organizers.

Waterway access on the Catharijnesingel and Oudegracht will be completely closed to external boat traffic during the event, restricting all public viewing exclusively to the canal banks.

Street Festivals and Coverage

Free street festivals will commence at the Pride Stage on Sint Jacobsstraat at 3:00 PM and at Janskerkhof from 5:00 PM, while Park Paardenveld will host no festivities this year due to ongoing municipal maintenance and seeding work.
