Television presenter Hélène Hendriks addressed concerned viewers during a live broadcast on Wednesday evening after a child appeared to struggle in a swimming pool behind the set of the talk show De Oranjezomer.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night at the Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort in Curaçao, where the program is temporarily being filmed.

Viewers noticed a boy struggling to stay above water during a scenic background shot, prompting immediate concern on social media before the child was rescued by his father.

Host Provides Update After Checking on Family

Hendriks began the following broadcast by explaining that the production team and table guests were unaware of the situation as it happened live.

The television crew performed follow-up inquiries after the program concluded to verify the condition of the child.

“We hebben nog even navraag gedaan en alles ging goed,” said Hendriks.

The host emphasized the importance of addressing the situation publicly due to the inherent dangers associated with water safety during the summer season.

Live Nature Prevented Immediate Intervention

The production crew utilized environmental cutaway shots during the live conversation, which inadvertently captured the poolside struggle.

The presenter reiterated that the live nature of the television production prevented immediate intervention from the set.

The host concluded by reflecting on how easily critical moments can be missed without constant supervision.
