A24 has released a new horror film titled "Backrooms," directed by 20-year-old YouTube creator Kane Parsons.
The movie expands his digital Creepypasta phenomenon into a theatrical feature that debuts in theaters on Friday.

Plot and Cast
The film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Clark, a middle-aged furniture store owner who accidentally phases through a wall into a seemingly infinite labyrinth of vacant, wallpapered rooms.
Renate Reinsve co-stars as Dr. Mary Kline, a therapist investigating the anomaly.
Clark and his employees, played by Lukita Maxwell and Finn Bennett, disappear during an expedition.
Mark Duplass plays Phil, a slippery researcher from the Async Institute who provides exposition about the mysterious liminal space.

Production and Style
The project is produced by horror genre leaders James Wan and Osgood Perkins. The screenplay was written by Will Soodik.
The early-1990s setting is established through a low-fi, analogue aesthetic, utilizing a synth-forward musical score composed by Parsons and Edo Van Breemen.
Production design is by Danny Vermette.
