More than 500 female business leaders from across Mexico gathered in Acapulco on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, for the opening of the XXIII Amexme National Congress 2026.

The four-day convention, running from May 26 to 29 at a resort complex in the Diamante zone, is projected to generate an economic impact of 15 million pesos and raise hotel occupancy rates, according to state tourism officials.

Women's Role in Economic Transformation

Acapulco Municipal President Abelina López Rodríguez welcomed representatives from more than 75 chapters across all 32 Mexican states, highlighting the critical role of women in national economic transformation and job creation.

"Acapulco celebrates your talent, capacity, and determination.

We believe this congress will lay good foundations; I am convinced that to transform this country, we need the 51 percent of women that we represent today.

Critical voices of women are required, and I am convinced that Amexme is the present and future of our country.

Welcome to Acapulco," expressed López Rodríguez.

The mayor toured the corporate exhibition stands and praised the organization for establishing a robust national network that fosters cross-sector growth opportunities.

Connecting Regional Businesswomen to National Markets

Amexme National President Ivett Bonifaz Famania emphasized that the summit connects regional businesswomen to national markets while promoting Guerrero's tourism offerings.

"We invite all of Mexico to come visit Acapulco, because Acapulco is standing.

Come enjoy its beaches, wonderful landscapes, gastronomy, and the warmth of its people," manifested Bonifaz Famania.

The national leader added that the organization's network spans from Tijuana to Chetumal, allowing members to establish extensive corporate links.

"This National Congress represents for us the opportunity to connect nationally, generate business links, and position each of the businesswomen of the state of Guerrero at the national level," punctualized Bonifaz Famania.

Acapulco as a Premier Convention Destination

Guerrero Secretary of Tourism Simón Quiñónez Orozco stated that such high-profile gatherings reinforce Acapulco as a premier destination for conventions and corporate meetings.

"This Congress will not only strengthen business ties and the exchange of experiences, but also sends a very clear message: Acapulco is standing, strong, prepared, and working united to continue growing," punctualized Quiñónez Orozco.

The conference also served as a platform for legislative and financial advocacy.
