The Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community Lead Imam Abdushshakur Adeleke Osoala has urged Muslims worldwide to embrace peace and unity ahead of the Eid al-Adha celebration.
In a goodwill message, the cleric announced that the festival falls on May 26, 2026.

Osoala emphasized that Eid al-Adha symbolizes sacrifice, obedience, faith, and submission to Allah.
He said the occasion should be a time to strengthen brotherhood and promote compassion across communities, not just for merriment.
“Eid al-Adha teaches us the values of sacrifice, tolerance, generosity, and love for humanity,” said Osoala, who serves as Amir and Lead Imam of the Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community.

The imam also advised Muslims to pray for the progress of Nigeria and Lagos State during the festivities.
He encouraged residents to respect law and order while celebrating responsibly.
Additionally, Osoala appealed to wealthy individuals and corporate bodies to support vulnerable citizens through humanitarian acts.

He offered prayers for the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, President Bola Tinubu, and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
