Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav attended the post-death "terahvi" rituals of Prateek Yadav at the family residence in Lucknow on Monday.
The ritual was performed by Prateek Yadav's wife, Aparna Bisht Yadav, who is a BJP leader and vice-chairperson of the UP State Women's Commission.

Prateek Yadav, the younger son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and half-brother of Akhilesh Yadav, passed away on May 13 at the age of 38 due to cardiorespiratory collapse.
A postmortem report from King George's Medical University indicated that the collapse resulted from massive pulmonary thromboembolism, alongside six antemortem injuries sustained before death.
Actor Rajpal Yadav also visited the residence to offer condolences. "What happened to Prateek Yadav is an unfortunate incident, a very heartbreaking misfortune.

His passing felt tragic," he said.
Other prominent attendees included Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav, party MP Dharmendra Yadav, and BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi.

Prateek Yadav, a fitness entrepreneur who chose to remain out of electoral politics, is survived by his wife and two daughters, Prathama and Padmaja.
