A First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Saturday across the Midlands due to an increased threat of rain and severe thunderstorms.

Some storms could become strong, potentially disrupting outdoor holiday activities.

Weather Pattern Remains Unsettled

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist overnight, especially in the northwestern part of the region. Temperatures will hover near 70 degrees.

Conditions will stay unsettled through most of next week, according to a report by WIS.

A slight risk of localized flash flooding has been issued for low-lying and poorly drained areas.

The primary threat from stronger afternoon and evening storms on Saturday will be damaging wind gusts. A 'Marginal 1/5 Risk' has been designated for the western Midlands.

Heavy downpours may cause minor flash flooding across parts of the region.

This wet pattern is expected to continue with a 50 percent chance of rain on Sunday and a 40 percent chance on Memorial Day.

Daytime temperatures will remain in the 80s.
