Marvel's "Daredevil: Born Again" Season 2 failed to secure a spot on the Nielsen Top 10 original series chart for the week of April 13-19, 2026.

This marks a consecutive streak of missing the viewership rankings.

The latest ratings report covered the release period of the fifth episode, "The Grand Design," on Disney+.

The entry threshold for the chart fell to 332 million minutes watched, anchored by Apple TV's "Your Friends & Neighbors" at the tenth spot.

However, the Marvel series failed to clear this lowered baseline.

With this latest omission, the second season remains absent from the Nielsen charts across all five available episodes.

Combined with the first season, the entire series has failed to break into the Top 10 rankings across all 14 episodes broadcast to date.

This performance trend aligns with independent data from Luminate, which reported a significant audience reduction for the second season.

The report indicated a decrease of approximately 46 percent in season views and a drop of nearly 55 percent in both hours and minutes watched compared to Season 1.

The lack of chart presence reflects a broader absence of Disney+ properties from the current streaming ranking.

The latest Nielsen list features content from HBO Max, Prime Video, Netflix, Peacock, and Apple TV, leaving Disney+ completely unrepresented in the Top 10 originals category.

The streaming chart for the week was led by HBO Max's "The Pitt" with 1.388 billion minutes watched, followed by Prime Video's "The Boys" at 918 million and Netflix's "Big Mistakes" at 580 million.

Other charting programs included Netflix's "Temptation Island," "Love on the Spectrum U. S.

," and Peacock's "The Miniature Wife."

Creative Shift and Audience Response

The creative direction of the second season introduces a narrative centered on the Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF) operating under Mayor Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D'Onofrio.

The plot follows Matt Murdock, portrayed by Charlie Cox, and Karen Page, played by Deborah Ann Woll, leading an underground resistance against the municipal crackdown.

The thematic shift toward street-level collective action and mutual aid represents a conscious change in Marvel's traditional storytelling framework.

It moves away from individualistic, billionaire-funded solutions toward localized solidarity movements.

Brad Winderbaum, Head of Marvel Television, Animation, highlighted the protagonist's updated role: "Daredevil is a revolutionary in this season.

He's a rebel and it's fun to see him go up against the power of the city."

Despite the current viewership metrics and fan criticism regarding specific production elements, Marvel is continuing development on its upcoming slate.

Production is underway for "Daredevil: Born Again" Season 3, which features the return of additional characters from the Defenders era.
