The main Palm Dog award went to Yuri, a stray dog featured in the Chilean film La Perra.
Director Dominga Sotomayor accepted the traditional embossed leather collar in person at the Cannes Members Club.
Sotomayor adapted the project from a novel by Pilar Quintana.
The story explores the complex relationship between humans and animals, focusing on how the restless canine alters the solitary life of her owner on a Chilean island.
The filmmaker explained her creative vision for the canine performance during the acceptance ceremony.

Jury Prize Awarded to Lola
The Jury Prize was awarded to Lola, a rescue dog starring in the British drama I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning.
Directed by Clio Barnard, the film follows five working-class friends in Birmingham, where Lola's relationship with a character named Oli provides a central emotional arc.
A lookalike dog named Soprano attended the event to accept the prize on behalf of Lola.
Barnard shared that the canine actress was discovered in an animal shelter before being cast in the production.
The director praised the transformation of the animal, calling it a "true rags to riches story."
Founded by Toby Rose in 2001, the Palm Dog has become a permanent fixture of the festival events.
