A small aircraft crash at Jaffrey Airport in New Hampshire left two people seriously injured on Thursday afternoon.
The plane veered off the runway and flipped onto its roof during a landing attempt around noon, according to local authorities.

Injuries and Response
The pilot and a passenger sustained severe head and torso injuries but remained conscious when first responders arrived.
They were transported via med-flight helicopters to U-Mass Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Jaffrey Police Chief Chris Labrecque noted that this was the first airplane crash his department had ever responded to.
He added that the last similar incident at the airport occurred about 20 years ago, according to the owner of the Ranch.
Flight Origin and Investigation
The plane had flown from the Albany, New York area and is registered to a New York man, the airport manager said.

The flight was not a training exercise.
Authorities suggested that wind conditions may have caused operational difficulties during landing.
The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an active investigation into the crash.
The aircraft wreckage will remain near the landing area during the initial investigation phase.
The identities of the two individuals on board have not been released.

The airfield reopened Thursday evening after being closed for the FAA investigation.
