An unannounced demonstration featuring white supremacist messaging drew sharp condemnation from local authorities in Shawinigan, Quebec.
Masked individuals gathered at Vétérans Park around 3:30 p. m.

Participants wore black uniforms with matching caps and white scarves to conceal their faces.
They carried Canadian, Quebec, and black flags featuring a white symbol.
The group also displayed a sign reading "Je me souviens d’un Québec blanc" during the gathering.
City Rejects Racist Message
Municipal officials confirmed they received no prior notification about the event.

Communications Director Frédérick Beaulieu stated that the city would never endorse a demonstration with racist overtones.
Beaulieu described Shawinigan as a tolerant and open community that welcomes numerous immigrants annually through the Service d'accueil des nouveaux arrivants (SANA).
"Ces nouveaux arrivants enrichissent notre tissu social. Nous déplorons que ces individus aient choisi Shawinigan pour passer un message d’intolérance aussi inacceptable," said Beaulieu.
The local police force also confirmed they had no advance knowledge of the demonstration.

The Sûreté du Québec stated that they had not been contacted regarding the scheduling or occurrence of the event.
