Actors Justin Long and Iris Apatow are in negotiations to star in the upcoming survival thriller Stung, an independent killer bee movie now in development.

The project was announced as a Variety exclusive on May 13, 2026, and is being introduced to international buyers at the 2026 Cannes Film Market by sales agent VMI Worldwide.

Stung reunites Long with director Colin Minihan, marking their second collaboration after the 2025 comedy-horror film Coyotes.

Minihan is known for creature-based and environmental survival thrillers, having directed Grave Encounters (2011) and What Keeps You Alive (2018).

The film marks a genre shift for the 23-year-old Apatow, recognized for comedic and dramatic roles in This Is 40, The Bubble, and the Netflix series Love.

Producers Andre Relis and Jib Polhemus are backing the project, which centers on ordinary people confronting naturally aggressive bees in a suburban setting.

Relis previously produced the sci-fi thriller The Recall, while Polhemus served as a producer for The Expendables 2.

As of May 29, 2026, the film remains in development while talent negotiations continue.
