An Amber Alert has been canceled after California law enforcement successfully located a 3-month-old boy who was abducted Friday afternoon in Alhambra.

The California Highway Patrol found the infant, Cayden Ramey, after activating the emergency broadcast system on behalf of the Alhambra Police Department.

The child had been missing since approximately 5:25 p. m.

on Friday, May 22, 2026, when he was taken near Hampden Terrace and Sherwood Avenue.

Although officials confirmed the baby is safe, the Alhambra Police Department has not released details regarding the exact time or location where the infant was discovered.

Law enforcement officials also did not disclose whether the suspect has been apprehended or if any individuals are currently in custody regarding the abduction.

Suspect Description

Investigators previously reported that the child was taken by an unidentified 30-year-old suspect.

The individual, described as 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build, black hair, and brown eyes, was last seen wearing a black shirt with blue-and-black pants while carrying a black backpack.

Authorities noted that the suspect and the infant were believed to be traveling in a black 2015 Honda Civic with California license plate 7KFZ167.

The specific relationship between the suspect and the victim remains unknown.

The emergency response utilized strict federal criteria before broadcasting the disappearance across the region.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the state agency characterizes Amber Alerts as "the most serious alerts we can issue involving children."

The agency added that these specific alerts are only deployed when investigators possess verifiable evidence indicating that a child faces an imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death.
