Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine claimed during a recent VladTV interview that the public backlash and legal difficulties surrounding Drake and Lil Durk represent divine punishment for insulting him in their 2020 collaborative song "Laugh Now Cry Later."
The Brooklyn rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, connected the ongoing struggles of both artists to a spiritual consequence for their past public feuds with him, HotNewHipHop reported.

"I want to end with this," said Tekashi 6ix9ine. "God has showed me that he's real.
Someone I never in my life thought that the world would turn against him and f*ckin' clown him on a worldly level was Drake."
He expressed surprise at the intensity of criticism directed at Drake, referencing Kendrick Lamar's recent Super Bowl halftime performance where Lamar made severe allegations against the Toronto superstar.
"That same year, Durk gets arrested for murder-for-hire," continued Tekashi 6ix9ine. "The name of their song in 2020 when they dissed me was 'Laugh Now Cry Later.'"
To support his viewpoint, the rapper cited a biblical verse regarding consequences faced by individuals who attempt to publicly humiliate others, Musictimes.

Lil Durk was arrested in October 2024 regarding an alleged 2022 murder-for-hire plot and remains held without bond, with his federal trial scheduled to begin in August 2026.
In separate recent events, Hernandez sparked widespread social media outrage during a livestreamed gender reveal party with his girlfriend, Aliday Alter, on Friday, May 8, 2026, TMZ reported.
The rapper faced intense backlash after stating to fellow internet streamers that the couple would seek an abortion if the child was a girl, as reported by AOL.

"If it's not a boy, then it's abortion," said Tekashi 6ix9ine.
He subsequently stated that Alter agreed with his stance, though the event concluded with blue streamers confirming they are expecting a boy, which will be the first son for the rapper who already has two daughters from previous relationships.
