Director Steven Spielberg has crafted a 20-minute finale for his upcoming science-fiction film Disclosure Day, set to premiere in theaters on June 12, 2026.
The film explores human reactions to cosmic unknowns through an extraterrestrial discovery.

It marks another foray into otherworldly themes for Spielberg, who previously directed Close Encounters of the Third Kind and War of the Worlds.
The plot follows a Kansas City meteorologist played by Emily Blunt and a young whistleblower portrayed by Josh O'Connor.
They uncover definitive proof of alien contact, forcing a dilemma over whether to reveal the truth or keep it hidden.
Spielberg's Vision for the Finale
"This story needed to have a couple of jet engines strapped onto it," Spielberg said.

"I wanted that to begin from the very first frame and conclude in a 20-minute finale that would bring everyone to a united epiphany."
Cast member Colman Domingo, who plays Hugo Wakefield, detailed the film's core conflict.
"The movie hinges on the idea that a profound truth has been kept secret from the world," he said.
Domingo added that the cover-up's long history complicates the characters' choices.
