Guy Ritchie's action war film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has claimed the top spot on Peacock's streaming chart in the United States.

Data from FlixPatrol shows the movie reached number one on May 21, 2026, following its digital release on May 18.

It surpassed popular titles such as The Secret Life of Pets, The Boss Baby, and The Day After Tomorrow to lead the platform's film rankings.

The streaming success comes after the film underperformed during its theatrical run, which began with a New York premiere on April 13, 2024, and a nationwide launch on April 19, 2024.

According to Box Office Mojo, the film grossed approximately $29.8 million globally against a reported production budget of $60 million, failing to reach its estimated break-even target of $120 million to $150 million.

Based on Damien Lewis' 2014 book Churchill's Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII, the narrative dramatizes the role of Winston Churchill's Special Operations Executive during Operation Postmaster.

Audiences have responded more favorably than critics, with a 91% verified Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes compared to a 68% Tomatometer rating, alongside a Metacritic user score of 6.4.

The current streaming momentum coincides with the theatrical release of In the Grey, a new action thriller that reunited Ritchie with lead actor Henry Cavill on May 15, 2026.

The film's synopsis describes the historical backdrop of the elite military unit that executed covert operations against Nazi forces during World War II.

“It tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials, including author Ian Fleming,” reads the synopsis.

The ensemble cast includes Henry Cavill, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Eiza González, Henry Golding, and Cary Elwes.

The screenplay was co-written by Ritchie, Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, and Arash Amel.

“The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques.

Ultimately, their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern Black Ops warfare,” the synopsis adds.
