The Madras High Court has served legal notices to several filmmakers and production companies following a lawsuit over the Telugu remake rights of the Malayalam film Drishyam 3.
The petition was filed by Rajkumar Theatres Pvt. Ltd., which claims to hold exclusive intellectual property rights for the Telugu adaptation of the crime thriller.

According to a social media post by Ramesh Bala, the company is led by Sripriya Sethupathi and Rajkumar Sethupathi.
Respondents Named in the Petition
The legal action names multiple respondents, including director Jeethu Joseph, Aashirvad Cinemas represented by M. Antony, Panorama Studios, and Pen Studios, as reported by Filmibeat.

The plaintiff is seeking a permanent injunction to prevent these parties, along with their associates and licensees, from releasing or producing any unauthorized Telugu adaptation worldwide.
Rajkumar Theatres alleges that any production or distribution of a Telugu remake without its explicit approval constitutes copyright infringement.

Following the initial submissions, the Madras High Court ordered all named respondents to submit their formal replies within three weeks.
