Law enforcement officers question Dr. Todd regarding a sexual assault allegation in the Wednesday, June 10, 2026, episode of ITV1's Emmerdale.

The investigation begins after Charity secretly reports Dr. Todd to the police and undergoes a medical examination to gather evidence.

Charity conceals her trauma from her husband Mackenzie Boyd and granddaughter Sarah Sugden, falsely claiming her emotional breakdown stems from postnatal depression.

As the legal process unfolds, newcomer DS Reid approaches Dr. Todd just before her planned departure from the village.

Meanwhile, Sarah blames herself for the situation and breaks down before being consoled by Mack, as Manpreet prescribes medication for Charity.

Producer Sophie Roper said the storyline will explore the impact of sexual violence, noting that although the act is fundamentally about power, the show will examine how Charity processes her trauma when the perpetrator is a woman.

Roper added that the plot addresses the isolation survivors face due to limited conversation surrounding female-on-female assault.

"With little conversation surrounding female-on-female assault, we'll explore the overwhelming feelings of isolation many survivors experience," Roper said.

The production team aims to showcase Charity's resilience throughout the upcoming episodes.

Actress Emma Atkins, who plays Charity, described the script as one of the most demanding and significant storylines she has navigated.

"We know her as a tough, resilient character, but this trauma will expose a deep, raw vulnerability that has been heartbreaking at times to play," Atkins said.

Atkins expressed hope that the storyline could inspire real-world impact.

"I hope this storyline gives even one person the courage to speak out or helps others understand the quiet devastation of trauma," she said.
