Shabana Azeez has confirmed that her character Victoria Javadi will leave the emergency room for a psychiatry rotation in the third season of HBO Max's medical drama The Pitt.
The actress shared the news during an interview with Bustle at the Newport Beach TV Fest.

“I’ve done my ER rotation,” Azeez said, adding that her character will now be “doing my psychiatry rotation.”
She described the shift as “a very different vibe for me” and admitted feeling “scared and nervous” about the change.
Despite her apprehension, Azeez called it “an honor to be able to show that part of medicine.”
The storyline adjustment comes after the permanent departure of actress Supriya Ganesh, who played Dr. Samira Mohan and exited at the end of season two.

Ganesh told the Los Angeles Times that the decision was a “creative decision” made by the executive production team.
She directed further inquiries to showrunner R. Scott Gemmill and executive producers Noah Wyle and John Wells.
“They work with such intention on the show and make all the choices that they make for that reason, so I think it’s better to ask them for answers,” Ganesh said.
She expressed gratitude for her time on the series, saying, “I’m going to treasure all the memories I had working with these two and everyone else.”

According to series writer Simran Baidwan, production on season three is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with a four-month time jump advancing the plot to November.
