More than 120 runners gathered in Whitstable last Sunday for the inaugural 'Rise and Run' 5k, raising over £2,500 for East Kent Mind.
The charity event, organized by East Kent Mind, aimed to support local mental health services through community fitness.

Lord Mayor of Canterbury, Cllr Alister Brady, officially started the race. Harrison White was the first to cross the finish line.
Participants came from various athletic groups across Kent, including Whitstable Road Runners, Ashford Striders, Thanet RoadRunners, and many others.
Kim Growns and Ella Vousden led individual fundraising efforts, partnering with a Starbucks team to collect £260. The best costume award went to Run Together Canterbury.

Simon Dolby of the events team expressed gratitude: “I want to thank everyone for supporting us and enabling this event to be such a success.”
The 5k route was managed by 20 marshals led by Lauren Mansfield.

Additional support came from the Marine Hotel in Tankerton, Whitstable Junior Park Run volunteers, G4S, and Eye Sky UK.
