Social media claims that Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan was hospitalized for stomach complications are completely false, according to a report by ETimes on May 20, 2026.
The veteran actor visited Nanavati Hospital on Saturday for his regular monthly health screening and returned home immediately after the checkup.

False reports, initially spread by journalist Vickey Lalwani, alleged that Bachchan had been admitted to the hospital's VIP enclosure since May 16, 2026, due to ongoing stomach issues related to a historic accident on the set of the film Coolie.
An anonymous source close to the actor clarified the situation to ETimes, stating: "Mr Bachchan did visit Nanavati Hospital on Saturday, however, it was a regular check-up which he goes for every month and he returned home after that."
The source also provided updates on Bachchan's activities following the hospital visit to dispel the rumors. "The news is absolutely false.

He is absolutely fine and after his regular hospital visit on Saturday, he was back home and was also seen driving his car from Jalsa to Janak the next day.
He is currently at home," the source added.

Bachchan, 83, continues to be active and was seen driving his own car the day after the checkup, further confirming his good health.
