Virgin Island Renewed for Season 2 After Record-Breaking Debut on Channel 4

Virgin Island--

Channel 4 has officially renewed its hit reality series Virgin Island for a second season following an explosive first run that shattered records and sparked conversations across the UK.

The debut episode of season 1 became Channel 4’s most-watched show among viewers aged 16 to 34 in 2025, outperforming long-standing favourites like Taskmaster, Gogglebox, and Married at First Sight Australia. It also earned the title of the channel’s biggest streaming success of the year.

What Is Virgin Island About?

Virgin Island follows 12 adult virgins who embark on an emotional and intimate journey at a luxury Mediterranean retreat.

A Standout Hit

Since its premiere, the show has:

  • Delivered Channel 4’s biggest unscripted series launch for 16–34s on record
  • Become the network’s top streaming show of the year
  • Outshone high-profile series like Late Night Lycett and The Jury: Murder Trial

Channel 4 Responds

Ian Katz, Channel 4’s Chief Content Officer, praised the series:

Virgin Island is the kind of bold, thoughtful show only Channel 4 would make—tackling a sensitive topic with honesty, warmth, and wit. We’re thrilled it connected so strongly with young viewers.”

Commissioning Editor Jonah Weston added that season 2 will be “bigger and bolder than ever.”

A Life-Changing Experience

Season 1 participant Dave reflected on his time in the villa:

“I had an amazing time on the Island. I’m truly thankful for the experience and can’t wait to see a new group go through the same journey. It changed my life—and I’d encourage anyone with enough courage and resilience to apply.”
