Reality television personality Jenny Slatten has publicly disclosed her diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease.

The 68-year-old star of 90 Day Fiancé made the announcement on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, revealing that she was formally diagnosed in December 2025.

Slatten first experienced symptoms approximately a year before the diagnosis. The disease has since affected her movement, speech, and independence.

She shared the news on Instagram to clarify rumors that she had suffered a stroke.

Slatten also used the platform to ask for information about potential treatments, clinical trials, or lifestyle changes that could help manage the condition.

“With a heavy heart we wanted to share a news with all of you guys.

That, there was a rumor that I had a stroke, but it turned out to be ALS,” Slatten wrote in her post.

“At first, we tried to keep it private because it’s been very emotional and overwhelming for us.”

Slatten and her husband, Sumit Singh, 38, have been seeking medical expertise from multiple neurologists in India.

The couple first noticed health issues in December 2024 when Slatten choked severely while drinking water.

That incident led to swallowing difficulties and painful migraines, which were initially treated as an infection.

Singh later observed further signs of the degenerative motor neurone disease, particularly during a reality television holiday event in New York City.

Fans also expressed concern online about Slatten’s appearance and behavior at the event.

“That’s when we knew something was wrong,” Slatten said, according to People magazine.

The couple noted that the progression of the disease is currently slow. They are exploring medical options globally and remain open to any form of help.

Family History and Public Support

Slatten’s father died from ALS a decade ago, making her aware of the disease’s impact.

The public disclosure follows other recent high-profile ALS cases in the entertainment industry, including veteran actor Russell Andrews, who detailed his diagnosis on CNN after initially suspecting a stroke.

Andrews recalled his early symptoms, including frequent muscle twitches that he thought were pinched nerves in his neck.

Slatten and Singh married in 2021 after a relationship that began online in 2012.

The couple is scheduled to appear on the upcoming third season of the television spin-off 90 Day: The Last Resort, which premieres on June 1, 2026.

Slatten concluded her Instagram message by thanking fans for their love and support.
