This patent covers its proprietary "w. semi" floating offshore wind turbine platform.
Key Milestones at OTC 2026
During the same industry event, Lloyd's Register officially granted Wison an Approval in Principle for its Harsh Environment Internal Turret FPSO design, designated RD234.
The approval followed an independent concept-stage safety review.
Dr. Weimin Chen, Director of Offshore Wind at Wison New Energies, delivered a peer-reviewed technical paper at the conference.
The paper compared floating wind platform configurations for very large turbines.

History of US Market Entry
Wison initially entered the U. S.
market in 2009 by launching a Houston-based joint venture with deepwater engineering pioneer Ed Horton.
The venture was named Horton Wison Deepwater, Inc. (HWD).
This partnership combined Horton's extensive deepwater platform patent portfolio with Wison's fabrication capacity.

In 2012, the collaboration led to the creation of the CX-15 platform.
The CX-15 stands as the world's first Buoyant Tower drilling and production platform.
It was designed by HWD, built at Wison's Nantong yard, and deployed offshore Peru.
The joint venture was subsequently renamed Wison Offshore Technology, Inc. (WOT).
In 2016, it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Wison.
Through WOT, the parent company consolidated Horton-origin offshore engineering capabilities.
