Hers was my last wedding and then I closed down my business," said Lawton.

The legal judgment remains unpaid despite the official court ruling in favor of the bride.

Welsh Bride Chooses Relaxed Ceremony

In sharp contrast, Ashleigh Stanley from Merthyr Tydfil chose a completely relaxed approach for her legal ceremony. She married high school sweetheart Jake Stanley.

The 29-year-old Welsh bride walked down the aisle wearing a white robe, slippers, and hair rollers without any makeup at 10 a.

m. The date was what would have been her late grandmother's 100th birthday.

The groom wore gym shorts and trainers for the small legal service. Their families wore pink bridal pajamas and casual clothing.

The unique attire choice was made to alleviate pressure and to reflect her everyday appearance at home.

"I quite liked the idea of getting married in my rollers and dressing gown," said Stanley.

The couple originally planned a 150-guest civil ceremony but altered it because a beloved religious hymn, "Calon Lân," was restricted during civil proceedings.

The hymn held deep significance as it was the only song her grandmother, who suffered from dementia, remembered perfectly.

"She had dementia for 10 years, and this song was the only song she knew by heart.

If we started to sing 'Calon Lân,' she knew every word," said Stanley.

By separating the quick legal ceremony from a larger celebrant service, the couple managed to include the song later in the day.

For the subsequent formal event, the bride changed into an off-the-shoulder gown with full hair and makeup, while the groom wore a tuxedo.

Guests reportedly preferred the quick format because it concluded within 10 minutes and allowed more time to celebrate.

"Our guests said how they preferred our service to any other wedding service as it was done within 10 minutes and everyone had more time to party and get on with the day," said Stanley.

The unusual bathrobe wedding photos continue to bring joy to the newly married couple.

Stanley highly recommended the low-stress dressing approach to other couples looking to eliminate pre-wedding anxiety.

"I said, 'I'll be in my pajamas most of my married life, and this is how he sees me most of the time, so this is how I'm going to marry him.'

I gave him a reality check of what married life would be like," said Stanley.

The venue staff confirmed to the family that it was the very first dressing gown wedding hosted at their location.

The couple completed their dual-ceremony wedding day by celebrating with their guests at the vineyard.

The formal celebration proceeded smoothly following the casual morning ceremony. The bride noted that the initial laid-back atmosphere completely eliminated her nerves before the main event.

"It took that pressure away," said Stanley.

The final reception allowed all attendees to enjoy the day without rigid traditional constraints. The couple now looks back on their wedding photographs with fond memories.

The family celebrated both the legal union and the grandmother's memory through the day's events. The wedding concluded with a festive reception at the Welsh vineyard.

The distinct wedding formats showcase the varying experiences modern couples encounter when planning their marriages.
