Two brides experienced drastically different outcomes on their wedding days.

One filed a lawsuit over failed services in Philadelphia, while another intentionally wed in a bathrobe and slippers at a vineyard in Wales.

Philadelphia Bride Sues Coordinator

Ashley Lopez claimed her wedding coordinator ruined her big day. She paid Traci R.

Lawton of Wedding Kiss Ballroom over $6,000 for advanced services that were not delivered.

According to Lopez, Lawton informed her an hour before the ceremony that the caterer had been in an accident.

The coordinator then abandoned the venue, leaving food arrangements unfinished.

"She called herself the fairy godmother, the fairy bride mother," said Lopez.

The bride noted that food service faced delays and meal quality was incorrect. A planned memorial table honoring deceased family members was entirely omitted.

"She takes care of the catering, the wedding decorations, the DJ," said Lopez.

Lopez further stated that the coordinator lost the marriage certificate. The couple had to file for a duplicate and track down Lawton for a signature.

"I walk into a venue and the first thing I get told is this has been a day from hell," said Lopez.

The coordinator promised a financial refund but never sent any funds. This prompted legal action from the bride.

"And I'm like, oh my God, what do you mean?" said Lopez.

Lopez successfully won the lawsuit after Lawton failed to appear in court. However, she has still not recovered the money.

"There was supposed to be a memorial table to honor my husband's father who passed away and my grand-mama who passed away," said Lopez.

The bride expressed deep frustration regarding how her milestone celebration was handled.

She advised future couples to thoroughly research vendors and request references instead of relying solely on online searches.

"There was nothing there," said Lopez.

The experience left the bride feeling incredibly stressed during a time that should have been beautiful.

"I think I was so angry with how she treated my day," said Lopez.

The coordinator later confirmed the operational issues and noted that she has since closed her business permanently.

Lawton stated that she remains committed to returning the funds to Lopez eventually.

"I, too, was devastated. It was a day of mishaps.

I have apologized a hundred thousand times. I still intend to pay Ashley back.
