Reality television personality Kyle Cooke has called for a peaceful separation from his estranged wife, Amanda Batula, following public scrutiny over their joint appearance at a promotional event in New York City on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

The Summer House cast members, who announced their separation in January after four years of marriage, reunited on the red carpet alongside other television personalities to mark the premiere of their new spinoff series, In the City.

Cooke Addresses Public Reaction

Cooke addressed the public reaction to their interaction through statements on his social media platform.

He clarified that he had encouraged Batula to attend the celebration despite her initial reluctance.

"Yes, Amanda and I took a picture together. I was just happy she showed up," said Cooke.

The media personality defended the authenticity of their ongoing marital difficulties against online skepticism regarding their red carpet photograph.

"Don't call my life, my relationship, my marriage, and the implosion of my marriage fake," said Cooke.

He further requested that viewers respect their privacy as they navigate the public aspects of their professional commitments together.

"Guys, with all due respect, we're all adults here, and we all showed up to a premiere party.

And yes, Amanda did not want to come. And I convinced her to come.

We took a photo together. Grow the f--k up," said Cooke.

Strategy for Managing Divorce

During a May 11 appearance on the Trading Secrets podcast, Cooke elaborated on his strategy for managing the divorce without hostility.

He referenced the difficult public breakups experienced by mutual acquaintances within their television network.

"So I was already in the mindset, I just kind of want to take the high road. I still have so much love for Amanda," said Cooke.

He emphasized that maintaining a functional relationship remains a priority due to their overlapping social circles across multiple television programs.

"Like, let's just try to have an amicable split because we have so many friends on so many different shows, including our own, that had a pretty horrible breakup.

And it took years just to be in the same room. You know what I mean?"

said Cooke.

He noted that he had been preparing himself mentally to manage the transition smoothly.

"And so I was already kind of trying to train myself to take the high road," said Cooke.

Speaking to Access Hollywood's Reality Nightcap on May 7, Cooke disclosed that Batula continues to rely on his support, though they face challenges in defining new personal boundaries.

"I don't want to be her crutch, right?" said Cooke.

He stated that he is attempting to navigate their changing dynamic while remaining considerate of her emotional well-being.

"So I'm just trying to find that right balance, just 'cause I know her mental state and just how fragile she is," said Cooke.
