Classical music label Naxos will release two rare gala concerts conducted by legendary composer John Williams with the United States Marine Band as a two-CD collection on June 19, 2026.

The upcoming physical release, titled John Williams and “The President’s Own” Vol. 1 & 2, marks the widest commercial availability for these unique performances.

These concerts were recorded at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.

Two Decades of Musical History

The first disc captures a July 12, 2003 concert celebrating the 205th anniversary of the ensemble.

It features themes from Star Wars, Schindler’s List, and E. T.

The Extra-Terrestrial, alongside a then-new suite from Catch Me If You Can.

The second disc features a July 20, 2008 gala marking the band’s 210th anniversary.

It highlights pieces from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman, and Liberty Fanfare.

The compilation concludes with a 2013 studio bonus track recorded at the John Philip Sousa Band Hall.

From Digital to Physical

This physical compilation presents an abridged version of the material.

The Marine Band originally distributed the recordings as a free digital download in 2018.

They later pressed limited CDs for a third Kennedy Center appearance.

The album launch aligns with the upcoming cinematic debut of Disclosure Day.

This marks the 30th film collaboration between director Steven Spielberg and Williams.

It also coincides with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Meanwhile, Film Concerts PH announced a live staging of “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert” in Manila.

The event will take place at The Theatre at Solaire on September 5 and 6, 2026, as reported by abs-cbn.

The Manila production will showcase Williams’ Grammy-winning score performed live by the 85-member Filharmonika Orchestra.
